Prairie Stars Aim for Strong Showing at 2025 GLVC Women鈥檚 Cross Country Championship

The UIS women's cross country team heads into the 2025 GLVC Championship looking to build on one of its strongest starts in program history. The championship will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, at Lewis Cross Country Course in Romeoville, Ill., with the women's 6K聽starting at 9:30 a.m. CT. Fans can follow the action via live stream on GLVCSN and live results on TRXC Timing. Cool and cloudy conditions are expected.

Community Notification - Police Training

On October 24, 2025, between 9:30 am and 10:30 am, law enforcement officers from the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield, 缅北禁地 State Police, 缅北禁地 Secretary of State Police, and the Sangamon County Sheriff鈥檚 Office will be participating in a聽dignitary protection training exercise聽on campus.
The training will take place in the area around Sangamon Auditorium and will involve officers wearing suits and earpieces, as well as a single large tactical vehicle that will be part of a simulated motorcade.

University of 缅北禁地 Springfield alumna聽Carmen Llopis Fabra聽has been named one of the聽Top 30 honorees for the 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, placing her among the聽top 10 student-athletes from NCAA Division II.
The聽NCAA Woman of the Year Award聽honors graduating female student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence in academics, athletics, service, and leadership throughout their collegiate careers. This year's Top 30 were selected from a record-breaking聽631 nominees聽representing all three NCAA divisions.
