The UIS volleyball team has announced its schedule for the 2025 season. The Prairie Stars, led by fifth-year head coach Kamille Jones, will host 14 matches at TRAC this season, including seven in conference play, as they pursue success in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
The season begins with a scrimmage at Bradley on Saturday, August 23. UIS will then return home to host its first of two tournaments at TRAC.
The UIS softball program has announced the addition of three transfers to its roster ahead of the 2025-26 school year. The incoming groupÌýfeatures two student-athletes from the junior college level and one NCAA Division I transfer, adding talent and depth to an already experienced Prairie Stars team.

The Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield women's tennis team has once again earned the title of Jimmy John's Academic Team of the Year. The team of seven student-athletes posted an impressive year-long grade point average of 3.89 on a 4.0 scale in 2024-25, the highest among all UIS programs.
Nine UISÌýstudent-athletes were named to the 2025 Academic All-DistrictÌýcross country/track and field teams, as announced Tuesday, June 24, by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Nomination criteria include a regional top-50 finish in cross country and rankings in indoor and outdoor track and field events. Additionally, student-athletes must maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be of at least sophomore status.
The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) has announced the 2024-25 recipients of the prestigious Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award, withÌý48 senior student-athletes from the UIS earning the honor.
This award recognizes student-athletes who have maintained aÌýcareer GPA of 3.50 or higher, completedÌýa minimum of 96 credit hours, and competed in the GLVC forÌýat least two seasons. The honor may only be awarded once in a student-athlete's career.
Forty student-athletes from UIS have been named Brother James Gaffney Distinguished Scholars for the 2024-25 academic year.ÌýThe award, presented by the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), recognizes student-athletes who completed the academic year with a 4.0 GPA. This marks the third award announcement ofÌýGLVC Academic Awards Week, and the UIS honorees are part of a record 684 student-athletes recognized across the conference.
The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Tuesday that UIS student-athletes received 239 Academic All-GLVC honors for the 2024-25 academic year. To receive Academic All-GLVC recognition, student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or above for the school year. A total of 4,333 student-athletes across the conference were recognized, including 203Ìýindividuals from UIS. The 239 honors were awarded across all 15 UIS athletic programs and includeÌýrecognitionÌýofÌý36 multi-sport athletes.
