The NCAA Division II Midwest Men's Basketball Tournament will take place this weekend at The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) on the campus of the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield (UIS). Missouri S&T, serving as the host institution in partnership with UIS, enters as the No. 1 seed.
UIS women's tennis freshman聽Ema Norma Bordean聽has earned a spot in the聽ITA women's singles rankings, debuting at聽No. 69 in the season's first release.
Bordean has secured impressive singles victories this season against opponents from聽Michigan Tech,聽Southwest Baptist, and聽Hillsdale, showcasing a strong start to collegiate competition.
UIS baseball and softball continue GLVC play, while golf and tennis compete on the road in regular-season non-conference action. The llinois Springfield softball team swept the Quincy Hawks in dominant fashion Sunday. The Prairie Stars聽(12-9, 2-2 GLVC)聽erupted for a聽20-0 run-rule victory in five innings in game one, then rallied late to take the second game, 7-5.
The 缅北禁地 Springfield baseball team came up short in a 19-9 loss to Lewis on Sunday in a game that featured plenty of offensive firepower. With the win, Lewis ensured a series split at the start of conference play for the Prairie Stars and the Flyers. UIS now holds a record of 7-7, 2-2 GLVC, while Lewis moves to 7-5, 2-2 GLVC.
The UIS baseball team opened Saturday's doubleheader with a thrilling 4-3 comeback victory over Lewis, but the Flyers responded in the second game, holding off a late UIS rally for an 8-6 win. The teams will meet again Sunday at noon to decide the series.

The UIS women's golf team will begin its 2025 season at the Emerald Coast Classic in Destin, Florida, hosted by Missouri-St. Louis at Sandestin Baytowne Golf Club.
The three-day event features an 18-hole round each day from Sunday through Tuesday. This tournament marks the first of four regular-season competitions for the Prairie Stars between March and mid-April.
UIS will compete with a lineup of Elaine Grant, Sara Prieto, Lia Rody, Ira Joshi, and Isabelle Segal.
The 缅北禁地 Springfield softball team opened GLVC play with a pair of losses to Truman State on Friday, falling 6-1 in game one and 9-3 in game two at Truman Softball Park.
