Prairie Stars Claim 10th Annual Prairie Stars Invitational Title with Strong Pack Finish

The Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield men's cross country team captured the team championship at the 10th Annual Prairie Stars Invitational on Friday evening, scoring 25 points to top the field in the 7K race at the UIS Cross Country Course.
UIS packed seven runners inside the top 10 overall, led by newcomer Colin Graham, who placed third in 21:56. Joey Karlesky and Noah Tegeler joined him in the top five, while Owen Whelan and Brock Loftus rounded out the Prairie Stars' scoring five.

The Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield women's cross country team opened its season in dominant fashion, winning the 10th Annual Prairie Stars Invitational on Friday evening with a team score of 19 points. Senior Madelyn Miller-Ross led the way, taking the individual title in a course-record time of 18:01.07. Her performance broke the previous UIS Cross Country Course women's 5K record of 18:21.2, set by a runner from Purdue NorthwestÌýat this meet in 2021. |
Prairie Stars Battle to 0-0 Tie in Season Opener

The Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield women's soccer team opened the 2025 season with a scoreless draw against Kentucky Wesleyan on Friday evening at Panther Field in Owensboro, Ky.Ìý
The Prairie Stars created several chances, outshooting the Panthers 14-7 and holding a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Addison Wittenberg led UIS with four shots, including two on target, while McKenna Gahagan added three attempts. Carolyne Mathenia and Mallory Herber also registered shots on goal.Ìý

Prairie Stars Drop Straight Sets to Central Missouri in Home Debut

The UIS volleyball team opened its season Friday Ìýat the Ãå±±½ûµØ National Guard UIS Invitational, falling in three sets to Central Missouri at TRAC. Set scores were 25-16, 25-18, and 25-14.
UIS showed resilience throughout the match. Makenna Cox paced the Prairie Stars' offense with 12 kills on a .346 hitting percentage. Kendall Johnson added six kills, while Erica Sledge contributed two. SledgeÌýdirected the attack with 17 assists.Ìý
