    The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield has enrolled 312 first-year students for fall 2025, a 19.1% increase from last fall鈥檚 262 freshmen. New students cite UIS鈥 academic programs, personalized attention and career outcomes as key reasons for enrolling.  |

    Registration for the听Emiquon听Nature Preserve Event is Live! This year's trip will be taking place on October 24,听2025. All permanent Academic Professional and Civil Service employees who have been employed for 6+ months are eligible to participate with supervisory approval. Participants will tour the Therkildsen Field Station and public use areas of the Nature Preserve. If time permits, we will also gather water samples to view in the lab.     Cory Strawn named UIS Employee of the Month for September 2025

    Cory Strawn, a steam and power plant worker in the building maintenance department, has been named the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Employee of the Month for September 2025. Strawn is recognized as a detail-oriented and dependable employee who comes to work with a positive attitude. 鈥淲hether it is working behind the scenes in the boiler rooms or attending to the heating and cooling issues in individual offices or departments, he is a great asset to the university,鈥 said one nominator.  | 
              
    Rody Tied for Fourth After Opening Day at UIndy Fall Invitational

    The UIS women's golf team played two rounds on Monday at the UIndy Fall Invitational, hosted at Champions Pointe Golf Club. The Prairie Stars sit in ninth place with one round left to play. UIS carded a team score of 307 in the morning round and followed with a 310 in the afternoon, finishing the day at 617 (+41). Missouri-St. Louis leads the 12-team field with a score of 574 (-2).  |

    Guidelines and Instructions for Applying for CSAC Professional Development听Funding for FY 2026
 
  The Civil Service Advisory Council (CSAC) is pleased to announce that FY2026 funding has been made available to assist Civil Service Employees (CS) at UIS with professional development.听Any CS employee employed with a 50% (minimum) appointment may apply for up to $1,200 to use toward any aspect of听past听or future professional development occurring during the 2026 fiscal year (July 1, 2025 鈥 June 30, 2026).  |
