Prairie Stars Battle in Five, Fall to Maryville in Homecoming Finale

The Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield and Maryville volleyball teams played a spirited non-conference match on Homecoming Saturday at TRAC. The Saints came away with a 3-2 victory, but the Prairie Stars delivered a sharp performance in front of a lively home crowd. UIS closed the Prairie Star Classic with a 6-4 overall record after dropping three matches during the week and will now turn its focus to the start of GLVC play.

Prairie Stars Drop Fall Opener to Valparaiso

The UIS women's tennis team opened its 2025 fall season on Saturday afternoon, falling 7-0 to Valparaiso at Dowling Park in Hammond, Ind. The match marked the first competition of the year for a Prairie Stars lineup that featured three newcomers making their collegiate debuts.
Valpo secured the doubles point by sweeping all three courts. At No. 1, Ema Norma Bordean and Niamh Grogan fell 6-3. At No. 2, Alisha Deogaonkar and Cristina Mendoza Romero were edged 6-4. At No. 3, Jane Carter and Maria Garcia Gama dropped their match 6-1.

UIS Men’s Golf Set for UIndy Invitational at Broadmoor Country Club

The UIS men's golf team is headed to Indianapolis early this week for the UIndy Fall Invitational at Broadmoor Country Club. The field will play three rounds of stroke play across Monday and Tuesday.
UIS will send out a lineup of Sacha Lamraski, Jake Baldin, Peyton Woods, Julien Babineau and Daniel Edwards, while Vilgot Arleback will compete as an individual.

UIS Women’s Tennis Opens Fall Slate at Purdue Northwest

The Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield women's tennis team begins its 2025 fall season this weekend at a tournament hosted byÌýPurdue Northwest at Dowling Park in Hammond, Ind.
The Prairie Stars will open play on Saturday afternoon with a 2:00 p.m. matchup against Valparaiso before returning Sunday morning for a 9:00 a.m. contest against host Purdue Northwest.
