As part of our NorthStar priorities, the Campus Services unit will be sunsetted after extensive review with help from the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ System. Clients who use Campus Services frequently are being contacted to plan immediate projects. Job requests will be accepted until Nov. 21, and an operational plan is being drafted to meet the needs of the university in 2026 and beyond.

Mail and Central Receiving services are transitioning to Facilities and Services. Facilities is reviewing workflows and will share if there will be changes to processes regarding mail services.

UIS employees showed their generosity and spirit during our SECA Bingo event on Wednesday, Oct. 22, raising $1,116 for Compass for Kids—a&²Ô²ú²õ±è;record-breaking total and $343 more than last year’s contribution.

Compass for Kids, founded by UIS alumna Molly Berendt Grogan, provides after-school and summer programs that empower children from under-resourced communities in the Springfield area.

UIS is a member of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce. RISE Springfield, the young professionals networking group of chamber, is planning their annual Leadership Conference for Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Springfield Convention Center.

The Samuel K. Gove Ãå±±½ûµØ Legislative Internship Hall of Fame at the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield inducted five new members during a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 at the Ãå±±½ûµØ Old State Capitol in Springfield. Prior to the awards ceremony, a reception was held at 5:30 p.m. This award honors former Ãå±±½ûµØ Legislative Staff Intern Program (ILSIP) interns whose careers exemplify distinguished public service.
