A simple check of a box will send applications to 900 schools throughout the state.
The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield (UIS) joined the Common App in September before Governor Pritzker’s announced all public universities in Ãå±±½ûµØ would join the program.
Making the switch has already increased the number of freshmen applications the school has received, and more are expected.

Administrators with the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ system paid a visit to Southern Ãå±±½ûµØ this week.
They said they want to be more involved in Southern Ãå±±½ûµØ — and that they would like for the region to be more involved with the system’s campuses, programs, outreach and economic development efforts.
Working toward that goal, a group of U of I leaders spent Monday in the region as part of a statewide tour, meeting with legislators, business leaders and representatives of Southern Ãå±±½ûµØ University Carbondale.
The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield will hold a virtual Graduate School Week Sept. 27-Oct. 1, 2021. The week will give students who are thinking about earning a master’s degree a chance to learn more about UIS’ 54 graduate degrees.

University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield is waiving all application fees starting from now through the 2022-2023 academic year for all incoming students.
Officials said students can apply to the university through Common App. It is an online college application platform that serves more than three million applicants, teachers, counselors and advisors across the U.S. and around the world every year.
The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield is taking the top prize yet again onof top public regional universities in Ãå±±½ûµØ.
UIS was also ranked the fourth-best public university in the Midwest regional category.
