UIS is committed to maintaining a drug- and alcohol-free environment for its students and employees, in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws. Students or employees who violate federal, state or local laws concerning drugs or alcohol are subject to criminal prosecution; those who violate the Policy and Program for Drug Prevention may also be subject to institutional sanctions.

Public Displays on UIS Campus
No items are allowed to remain as a display at the conclusion of an event unless a member of the student organization remains with the items for the duration of the display. In addition, no holes may be dug in the ground or drilled into the wall for the purpose of such displays. Any item displayed at a student organization event must be on a stand or platform, or freestanding on the ground. Items cannot be draped or placed on campus benches, as that would interfere with the intended usage of those items.
Student Organization Flag Pole Display Policy
Purpose
This document establishes policy and provides procedural guidance on requests to use flag poles to display flags, pennants, banners or other items on University property by student organizations and groups.
Eligibility
Only requests from UIS recognized student organizations and groups shall be considered. Nothing prevents the University administration from using the flag poles for University purposes.
World Health Organization Yellow Cards Policy
Beginning Spring, 2019, UIS Health Services will require Yellow Cards as evidence for immunization administered outside of the United States. Students unable to produce a Yellow Card to verify non-domestic vaccinations may receive the necessary immunizations at UIS Health Services or at any domestic health care provider of their choosing.
NOTE: This policy will be made explicitly clear in the application process so that all students are made aware of the requirements at the time they apply for admission to UIS.
