Fall Welcome is looking for volunteers to staff Welcome Tables at various locations on campus for the first few days of classes to help direct students and guests, provide answers to common questions, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.

Hazing Policy

 

Hazing

UIS Hazing Policy:

Hazing, defined as an act which endangers the mental or physical health or safety of a student, or which destroys or removes public or private property, for the purpose of initiation, admission into, affiliation with, or as a condition for continued membership in, a group or organization. The express or implied consent of the victim will not be a defense. Apathy or acquiescence in the presence of hazing are not neutral acts; they are violations of this rule.

The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield Student Union is opening its doors to community members who may still be without power following last Thursday’s storm.

The Union will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday for anyone who wishes to charge their cellular devices, use the guest Wi-Fi network, utilize available desk space for remote work or get out of the heat and enjoy an air-conditioned space.

Parking is available in Lot J to the east of the Student Union. Individuals using the Union for storm relief are not required to pay for parking.

Ann Comerford, interim vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield, has been elected president-elect of ACUI, formerly known as the Association of College Unions International.

Comerford will spend a year in the president-elect role observing closely all phases of ACUI's activities in preparation for assuming the presidency in March 2024.
