Telephone

Phones

ITS provides a Cisco-based Internet Protocol (IP) phone system for the UIS community. This system allows for IP desk phones to be connected to the campus network eliminating the need for extra cabling to be run all throughout campus to provide phone support. The IP phone system also allows for more flexibility by allowing for a softphone option to our users. A softphone is a piece of software that allows users to make telephone calls over the Internet via a computer or smartphone.

Email Forwarding for Life

ITS offers an email forwarding service for life for all UIS graduates.Ìý This service allows UIS graduates to opt-in and provide a personal email address that all messages sent to their "NetID"@uis.edu account will be forwarded to.

This services goes into effect when a graduate’s NetID is de-activated three semesters after his/her last semester of enrollment.Ìý More information about ourÌýNetID LifecycleÌýcan be found on our IT Policies webpage.

Email

Email accounts are created automatically for every UIS student and employee when the campus NetID is created. Microsoft Outlook is the most widely used email client on campus and is installed on nearly every office computer, both Windows and macOS, available anywhere through online, and mobile devices.

Instructional Technology Request Form

Information Technology Services and Facility Scheduling Services are pleased to announce a new process for requesting classrooms and instructional technology services for the courses you will be teaching. You can request classrooms, equipment, programs, and other technical services to support your teaching objectives.

Google Apps for Education

UIS has joined Google for Education in an effort to provide the campus with a streamlined way of taking advantage of the many apps available by Google. Working online and in collaboration with others has never been easier! Using your NetID and password, users can access Google Drive and Docs, Calendar, Sites, and more.

Webcasting

In collaboration with the Office of Electronic Media, ITS offers webcasting services for campus events and classroom lectures. Events such as graduation, athletics events, festivals, and various workshops/symposiums have been broadcast across the Internet using streaming technology that makes the content available across mobile and computing platforms.

Campus departments wishing to arrange a webcast should contact Cody Pope at 217.206.6803 orÌýcpope6@uis.edu.
