Desktop Refresh Program
Effective FY24, the Desktop Refresh Program will adopt a shared funding model that allows for improved consistency and longevity of the program.
Summary
ITS will cover the cost of a Windows desktop or $1000 toward the cost of another machine in the program. Any additional accessories/upgrades (docking station for laptops, second monitor, printer, additional RAM, etc) will be the responsibility of the unit.
Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources
The primary purpose of information technology resources at the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield is to enhance and support the educational mission of the University. Access to the University’s technology resources is a privilege granted to University students, faculty, staff, and approved guests. These resources include hardware, software, computer accounts, local area networks as well as connections to other computer networks via the Internet. Everyone using these resources is responsible for using them in an appropriate, ethical and lawful manner.
Security Cameras
Security cameras will be used in a professional and ethical manner in accordance with university policy and local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Wireless Network
Connecting to the UISWiFi Wireless Network
Windows
To connect your device to our wireless network, open Connect to a Network by clicking the network iconÌýin the notification area. In the list of networks, selectÌýUISWiFi, and then click Connect.
Depending upon whether or not your computer is in the UISAD domain, Windows may ask you for your UIS NetID and password in order to authenticate and let you connect to the network.
Network and Server Services
The ITS Network and Server Services team provides network and server services for the UIS campus. Their role is to fulfill the mission of the University by ensuring campus-managed network and communications systems and services are operated securely and efficiently, and that they are reliable, robust, and meeting the current and future needs of the campus community.
ITS Service Fees
Information Technology Services provides a diverse set of technology services and solutions in support of academic and administrative functions. Most services are provided at no cost to the current faculty, staff, and students; however there are circumstances where a fee may be applied.

Enterprise Systems
Access/Reporting/Training
Banner is a fully integrated suite of administrative software applications (Finance, Human Resources, Student Information System, etc.) used by the three campuses of University of Ãå±±½ûµØ for business operations.
The Banner Support team provides coordination and continuity between the UIS campus and the University’s central enterprise systems support organizations. We support campus administrative and college units, faculty, and students in their use of UI-Integrate Self-Service/Banner and related student systems.
Zoom
Zoom is a cloud-based conferencing solution that provides both video conferencing and screen share capabilities. All UIS faculty, students, and staff have access to the university’s licensed account and to Zoom’s great video conferencing features.
