Dear UIS Community,

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance student success, we have recently begun work on our HLC Quality Initiative, a large-scale improvement process required by HLC as part of our participation in the Open Pathway accreditation process. After conducting a university-wide survey and targeted focus groups last year, the Provost鈥檚 Leadership Team has determined that enhancing advising services for students will be the focus of our initiative.

The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield has named Yanhui Guo, associate professor of computer science, as the recipient of the Louise Hartman Schewe and Karl Schewe Professorship in the College of Health, Science and Technology (CHST). The professorship will support Guo鈥檚 efforts to apply artificial intelligence to improve education through research, innovation and community collaboration.

The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Visual Arts Program is proud to present 鈥淩oom 9,鈥� an exhibition featuring artworks by senior visual arts majors at UIS. The exhibit will open on April 21 and run through May 8. A reception will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on April 24. All gallery events are free and open to the public.
