Students graduating in Summer 2023 or Fall 2023 must submit an online Graduation Application via Student Self-Service ( - 鈥淕raduation鈥 tab) by July 3, 2023 (Summer 2023) or October 2, 2023 (Fall 2023).聽Students MUST be sure to verify that all curriculum information is listed accurately BEFORE submitting an online Graduation Application (including major, minor, concentration, etc.).聽

As we are about to wind down the semester and students look forward to graduation, many students are still contemplating going to graduate school, taking some time off, traveling abroad or taking a new job or their first career-oriented job!

Commencement day is almost here! Please read the following info to be fully informed.

When/Where

Saturday, May 13, 2 p.m.| Bank of Springfield Center in downtown Springfield.

Arrival

Arrive between 1 and 1:30 p.m. The doors will close 15 minutes prior to the ceremony; you will not participate if you arrive after the doors close. Give yourself ample time for traffic, finding a parking spot and walking to the BOS Center. There are other events the same day downtown, so parking might take extra time.

Federal Regulations require student loan borrowers to complete loan exit counseling upon leaving school. The purpose of this counseling is to help you to understand your rights and obligations as a student loan borrower.  The Student Loan Repayment Pause is expected to end this year. Less Than One Month until Commencement!

Congratulations! You鈥檙e almost across the finish line. Please read the following information carefully to understand what to expect the day of Commencement.

When/Where Is Commencement?

UIS is hosting one Commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Bank of Springfield Center in downtown Springfield. The ceremony will last approximately 1.5 hours. 

When Should I Arrive?

Hello, grad-- 

Today is the deadline to order your Commencement regalia. All students participating in Commencement must wear a black cap and gown (known as regalia).聽聽 If you have not already done so, purchase your regalia聽today聽by 10:59 p.m.聽via our partner, Herff Jones.聽You can choose free delivery to the UIS Bookstore or pay for home delivery 鈥 whichever is most convenient for you. Orders will be available for pickup at the聽Bookstore聽beginning聽May 4.

Thank you for submitting your Intent to Participate form. You鈥檝e officially notified us that you plan to attend Commencement! The last step in the process is to order your regalia. All students participating in Commencement must wear a black cap and gown (known as regalia).
