We did it! We completed another successful academic year at UIS. Thank you to everyone who helped at or attended Commencement. It was amazing to see all the happy faces of graduates, their families and friends. To continue the celebratory atmosphere, I hope to see you in the Student Union Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today for our End of Academic Year Party. Springfest is one of our longest and most loved traditions, and it starts today! Festivities will kick off with a Scavenger Hunt tonight at 8 p.m. Later in the week, you can look forward to cheering on our students at Springfest Trivia, Flag and Chant and Mud Tug-of-War. Thanks to everyone who helped organize this special week and to employees who are volunteering as judges. It鈥檚 an exciting time for our students.

The snowfall at the end of last week is a good reminder that winter is still with us. Thank you to our Facilities and Services employees, who we rely on in the worst conditions to clear roads, parking lots and sidewalks to help us safely work and learn. We鈥檙e only one month away from the first day of spring 鈥� not that I鈥檓 counting!
