Good morning, UIS!

The snowfall at the end of last week is a good reminder that winter is still with us. Thank you to our Facilities and Services employees, who we rely on in the worst conditions to clear roads, parking lots and sidewalks to help us safely work and learn. We鈥檙e only one month away from the first day of spring 鈥 not that I鈥檓 counting!

Good morning, UIS:

It鈥檚 February, which means it鈥檚 Black History Month! The theme this year is, 鈥淏HM 2024 Roots and Rhythm.鈥 The Diversity Center has worked very hard to put together events that showcase the importance of BHM and to provide us opportunities to learn and grow. Happy Monday, UIS!

And what a Monday it is. Due to icy conditions, in-person classes have been canceled today, and the Liberal Leave Policy is in effect. Many employees are working remotely today, so please check with departments ahead of time before planning to visit in person. Please note that Food Service is in operation today but may have limited options.

My sincere thanks to the employees who are working hard to keep campus warm and safe today.
