The Good as Gold Ceremony was started in 2008 to honor people, businesses and organizations who freely give their time and talents to make Sangamon County a better place to live.

Nominations for these categories are due Friday, Feb. 14. This year's ceremony will be held on Monday, April 21.
The Sangamon County Board of Elections will be in the Student Union from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week for early voting in the 2024 General Election.
NOTE: This polling place is only for residents in the following precincts: Capital 14, 21, 37, 60, 70, 82, 92, Woodside 02 and Woodside 04.
Students registered to vote with a campus address may use this location. On-site voter registration is available.

Help provide a warm welcome to new students this fall by filling out Welcome Cards.ÌýStop by the Volunteer & Civic Engagement Center (Student Union 103) and pick up as many as you would like to complete. We have a goal of 200!
Take them back to your office, or stop by and fill them out in the Student Union. Students have enjoyed receiving these the past two years, and we would love to have your help in making it happen again this year.
Please return completed cards by Thursday, July 27 to ensure they are included in new student goodie bags.

The Good as Gold Ceremony was established in 2009 to recognize the spirit and achievements of local volunteers and nonprofit organizations. The ceremony is a joint effort between the UIS Volunteer & Civic Engagement Center, the Junior League of Springfield, and the United Way of Central Ãå±±½ûµØ.
