NPR 缅北禁地 50th Anniversary Exhibit Opening

Join NPR 缅北禁地 and Sangamon Experience for a special evening that celebrates 50 years of public radio at the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield. Special guest Michel Martin from NPR's Morning Edition will be on hand as we open an exhibit that chronicles the first half-century of the station's history. "Radio That Listens to You: 50 Years of NPR 缅北禁地" will explore the hardships and joys of keeping local news reporting alive.

Jade Anderson is a student at the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield. During the 2022 spring semester, she has worked with the Community Voices team to learn about radio broadcasting. She spoke to Community Voices about participating in UIS athletics and her careen plans in media.

Dr. Beth Ribarsky is a communication professor at the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield, and one of her most popular classes explores relationships and dating. At the same time, multiple other common鈥痵ources of information (and misinformation) have caused confusion and mistrust of official messaging. Expert panelists discuss the roles of鈥痯ublic health officials, mainstream and social media, and efforts to counter misinformation throughout the population.
