WHAT: The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield鈥檚 Center for State Policy and Leadership will host a Constitution Day panel discussion focusing on issues related to the 2024 election, such as the Electoral College, voter registration and the role of the media. The event is free and open to the public.

UIS to host six ECCE Speaker Series events
The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield will host six Engaged Citizenship Common Experience (ECCE) Speaker Series events during Fall Semester 2024. The series presents events that promote and adhere to the value of engaged citizenship, cultural awareness and respect for diversity.

UIS Friday Night Star Parties return after Labor Day
The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield鈥檚 popular will resume the Friday after Labor Day and run through the end of October. The dates are Sept. 6, 13, 20, 27 and Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25. Friday Night Star Parties are held from 8 to 10 p.m., weather permitting, at the UIS Observatory on the roof of Brookens Library.
Innovate Springfield partners to host 鈥淔ounders, Failures and Fun鈥 speaker series event
WHAT: Innovate Springfield, the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield鈥檚 business incubator, has teamed up with the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, NPR 缅北禁地, Sangamon CEO, 缅北禁地 Ventures and iVenturED to present the speaker series event 鈥淔ounders, Failures and Fun.鈥

In July 2024, COLRS partnered with Human Resources to present the App Caf茅 for the Rise Employment Development series. This was a come-and-go opportunity to have a little fun learning about new apps that colleagues across UIS use for productivity, fun, lifestyle, hobbies, finance, and news/reading.

UIS鈥 Sangamon Experience explores central 缅北禁地 journalism and social justice in the 1980s
WHAT: The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield鈥檚 Sangamon Experience will host a panel discussion titled 鈥淓choes of Change: Central 缅北禁地 Journalism and Social Justice in the 1980s.鈥 Co-sponsored by NPR 缅北禁地, the event will explore the impact of local journalism during this transformative era.

The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Visual Arts Gallery presents 鈥淚nter | Action,鈥 a group exhibition featuring works by an all-women roster of five visual arts students as they prepare to transition from student artists to emerging professionals.

UIS and LLCC to host Career Connections Expo for students, alumni and community members
WHAT: The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield and Lincoln Land Community College are excited to announce the 2024 Career Connections Expo. Students and alumni from the hosting institutions, as well as community members, are invited to attend the free event to explore career opportunities and network with participating employers.
UIS to host an eclipse watch party on April 8
WHAT: The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield will host an eclipse watch party. While Springfield won't witness the total eclipse, the sun is projected to be approximately 96% obscured by the moon at 2:02 p.m., offering an exciting celestial spectacle for central 缅北禁地, weather permitting.
