If you received an email from GrantForward, it is not spam or a phishing attempt. This is a grant database that UIS is subscribed to. Previously, it only had accounts for faculty and those who opted in. Today, accounts went live for Civil Service and Academic Professional employees.Â
This is how the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will begin sending out monthly newsletters at the start of the Fall semester to increase efficiency and have better usage metrics than the email version we've been using.
Don't hesitate to reach out with questions!

A critical plumbing repair will be performed this week on the first floor of Brookens - both classroom and library sides. Crews will be replacing a sewage pump, which requires shutting off water for the entire first floor. This will affect restrooms, sinks, and water fountains on the first floor only. The water service will continue normally, and facilities will be available on all other floors.
Work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 13 and wrap up on Thursday, May 15.Â
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to main our campus facilities.
Please be aware that Parking Lot E will be closed on Wednesday, May 14, so that the painters may restripe the parking lot.

Thanks to campus and system-level financial support, ITS is in the process of implementing a campus-wide infrastructure refresh as part of our efforts to improve Wi-Fi performance. This is a multi-phase project with an expected projected completion date of August 2025.
During the week of May 12, we will be upgrading Founders Residence Hall and Pennyroyal.
During the transition for each building, laptops, tablets, and phones should automatically switch to the new Wi-Fi after a possible brief interruption in service.
Please be aware that Parking Lot C-South will be closed on Monday, May 12, so that the painters may restripe the parking lot.

The Title III Steering Committee invites faculty to apply for the High Impact Practice Development Fund. This fund, supported by the Title III Strengthening Institutions grant awarded to UIS in 2023, provides seed grants for programs to develop or revise a high-impact practice. The 2025-2026 Development Fund cycle will focus on capstone courses or projects, internships, and study away experiences.
