The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield has released the names of the 698 students who made the Dean’s List for Spring Semester 2024.

A total of 104 students in the College of Business and Management; 320 students in the College of Health, Science and Technology; 109 students in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; 143 students in the College of Public Affairs and Education; and 22 non-degree seeking or undecided students made the list.

The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield School of Education is partnering with Springfield Schools District 186 to establish the UIS Restorative Schools Network. This initiative will involve nine schools, focusing on improving school environments through restorative practices, which emphasize building relationships and resolving conflicts within the school community.

Kenneth Kriz, the interim vice chancellor for finance and administration and a distinguished professor of public administration at the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield, has been awarded the 2024 Jesse Burkhead Award from the journal Public Budgeting and Finance for his 2023 article, The award recognizes the best article published in the volume for the year.

Right-wing populist leaders have been at the helms of governments in all regions of the world, but they have taken power in an increasing number of countries in recent years. In fact, the percentage of right-wing populist leaders in the world in the past decade has surpassed that of the World War II era, as shown in Figure 1 below.

Why are fewer people riding public transit, and what do lower farebox revenues mean for state and federal government in their oversight and support of transit agencies? In an article published last year in the Municipal Finance Journal, our research team at the Institute of Government and Public Affairs developed some hypotheses for a possibly permanent decline in commuting: many workers became accustomed to working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic and have been hesitant to return to working in the office (Funderburg et al. 2023).

Iowa Law Bridge Program 2024

Ãå±±½ûµØ the Event

The University of Iowa College of Law invites you to the Law Bridge 2024 program. The program is designed to introduce diverse, under-represented, and non-traditional students to law school. This program is a way for you to learn what it is like to be a law student, develop a strong application, take two mock law classes, and listen and interact with current and former law students.

Schedule:

April 5: Introduction, followed by sessions on law careers, a mock class, law school tours, and group work.
