On Friday, March 14, the library will transition to the new EBSCOhost user interface. EBSCOhost has used customer feedback, usage data, user research, and usability studies to update the EBSCOhost interface.  All EBSCOhost databases鈥攊ncluding Academic Search Complete, PsycInfo, and others have the new interface. While the database content will remain the same, the user interface will provide users with a more intuitive, streamlined search experience.

Chancellor鈥檚 CAPE, CARE, and Star Awards

Please join us on聽March 13, 2025聽to celebrate this year's CARE and CAPE Award nominees and hear the chancellor announce the award winners. The Chancellor鈥檚 Award Recognizing Excellence in Civil Service (CARE) and the Chancellor鈥檚 Academic Professional Excellence Award (CAPE) have been awarded annually at UIS for the past 18 and 22 years. Each year, we receive nominations highlighting members of our campus community who consistently go above and beyond their duties and truly exemplify excellence. We will also announce the winners of the Nova, Orion, Polaris, and Sirius Awards.

The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield has received a $102,668 Open Educational Resources (OER) grant from the 缅北禁地 Secretary of State. This grant aims to reduce students鈥 need to purchase textbooks by promoting the use of free learning materials.

Summer Fun Under The Overhang At Brookens Library (Aug. 2)

On Thursday, August 2, we invite staff, students and faculty for more Brookens Library fun 鈥淯nder the Overhang鈥 as we celebrate Summer before it鈥檚 gone. From 11:30AM-1:00PM, the supplies will be provided (until they鈥檙e gone), so take a break and stop by to share in some fun summer activities with new and familiar friends at UIS!
