An active threat is defined as any incident which by its deliberate nature creates an immediate threat or presents an imminent danger to the campus community.

The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield prepares the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report and includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on the Springfield and Peoria Center campuses.
A Campus Security Authority (CSA) is a student, employee, volunteer, or an individual contracted by the University who is mandated to report Clery Act qualifying crimes that occurred on campus, in public areas bordering campus and in certain non-campus buildings owned or controlled (leased) by the university.Â
The Victims of Trafficking and Violence Act of 2000 requires colleges and universities to inform students and employees how to learn the identity of registered sex offenders on campus. This law contains the Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act which becomes effective October 23, 2002.
