UIS Community,
We wanted to send out a quick reminder about the importance of being prepared, as severe weather is forecasted for our area later today. While notification systems are in place to send out information, you can also help keep yourself safe. Now is a good time to take a moment to go through steps you can take during an emergency weather event.
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado WATCH until 6pm.聽The counties included in this watch for central 缅北禁地 are:
- CHRISTIAN
- MACON
- SANGAMON

The UIS Police Department presents training classes on ways to minimize your risk during an active shooter / active threat incident. The next class will be on Friday, February 17, at 10:00 am in Brookens Auditorium. The class will be approximately 1 hour in length.
On December 6 at approximately 10 a.m., the UIS Police Department will be conducting a test of the Rave text message system in conjunction with the monthly tornado siren test.聽We will follow up the test with a brief survey (no longer than 12 questions) to help evaluate the effectiveness of the tornado sirens and the Rave text message system.聽We would appreciate your participation to help identify areas we need to improve.

University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Police officers are helping people in Ukraine.
In a聽social media post, officials said they are donating eight used body armor vests. Those vests will first be sent to the 缅北禁地 State Police, who will then send them to the US/Ukrainian Resistance Foundation.
Armor vests are replaced by UISPD every five years, according to officials. 鈥淭he vests are usually surplussed, but this year they decided to help Ukraine.鈥
