Between October 20-24, Facilities will begin testing the heating systems in the legacy campus buildings to prepare for the colder months ahead. These tests will primarily take place in the early mornings to minimize any disruption to your day.
As with starting a home furnace after a long break, you may notice a temporary odor when the systems are activated. This is a normal part of the process and should dissipate quickly.

The annual fire drills for this year will be conducted on Thursday November 6th and Friday November 7 for the UIS campus. Please pay special attention to your building assembly points as some have been revised for the ease of assembly by location.
The roofing contractor will have a crane on site Tuesday morning, October 21, to place materials on the roof. The crane will be positioned on the west side of Founders, just off Eliza Farnham Drive. The bus stop on that corner will remain open and accessible. The red rectangle on the included image indicates the approximate location for the crane.
Please use caution if you need to travel near the residence hall. Construction zones and equipment placement areas will be marked to assist with navigation and ensure safety.

The women's restroom on the 4th floor in Tower 2 of PAC has been taken out of service for the foreseeable future.
Alternative restrooms in PAC Tower 2 include the restrooms on floors 2, 3, and 5 and an all-gender restroom on the 4th floor. Please note that all restrooms in Towers 1 and 3 remain closed as part of the ongoing construction efforts.

Please be advised that the Springfield Fire Department will perform a聽fire training simulation聽at the聽Sunflower 700 Building听产别驳颈苍苍颈苍驳听Tuesday, September 16聽and continuing through聽Friday, September 19.
As part of the training, theatrical smoke will be used to simulate realistic fire conditions. This may be visible in and around the building during the training period.
Key Details:
Renovations will begin on聽September 8聽on the 3rd floor of HSB to create a聽Centralized Lab Equipment Facility.听Rooms 329 and 330聽will be transformed into a shared space for housing lab instruments accessible to all labs within HSB. Project completion is expected in February 2026.
