Dear UIS Campus Community,
As we continue to experience extreme heat this week, City Water, Light & Power (CWLP) has notified UIS of a potential Maximum Generation Warning. This is due to the increased demand for electricity and a potential energy supply shortage from the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), the regional electric grid operator for the central United States.

As part of the necessary plumbing infrastructure renovation project that has begun this summer in the Public Affairs Center, Facilities & Services is working in collaboration with multiple campus partners to ensure a smooth transition process in operations. From June 2025 to September 2026, several units currently located in the PAC will temporarily pause or relocate their operations to other campus spaces due to the drilling and pipe excavation activities.
Greetings Campus Community,
We want to inform you that Facilities & Services will be working on the 4th聽floor of UHB this week, which may cause disruptions with noise and lingering dust in certain areas. Work will be primarily focused on room 4023 but may affect nearby hallways. Signage will be posted to guide you if any detours around the work area are necessary.
Your patience and understanding are appreciated as we work to enhance our campus learning spaces.
