The UIS men's track team wrapped up a strong weekend of competition at Grand Valley State on Saturday, securing four personal bests, two season bests, and a national top-50 ranking in the distance medley relay (DMR).
The UIS women's track team closed out competition at the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Mich., on Saturday, highlighted by Kaleigh Inniss' top-10 finish in the women's 3,000-meter run.
The Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield women's track and field team turned in a series of strong performances in the 5,000m on Friday at Grand Valley State. Multiple Prairie Stars set personal bests, highlighted by Madelyn Miller's school-record run of 16:37.46, which earned her an NCAA provisional mark and the No. 10 time in Division II this season.
The Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield men's track and field team opened its weekend at Grand Valley State with three NCAA Division II top-100 performances on Friday. It was the first of two days of competition in Allendale, Mich.
The UIS men's tennis team welcomes regional opponent Michigan Tech for a Saturday afternoon matchup at the Springfield Racquet and Fitness Center. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.

The Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield men's basketball team overcame a double-digit first-half deficit and locked down defensively in the second half to earn a 68-62 victory over Indianapolis on Thursday night at TRAC. With the win, UIS moves to 12-12 overall and 7-9 in GLVC play, while UIndy falls to 13-11 (7-9 GLVC).
"It was probably our best defensive half of the year in the second," said Coach Matt Brock. "We made every shot hard for them. It was great to see Nate back out there; he did a great job of finding his teammates."
The UIS women's basketball team fell to Indianapolis in a hard-fought overtime battle, dropping to a 8-16 overall record and 6-10 in GLVC play with a narrow 80-78 loss. UIndy improved to 5-19 overall and 4-12Â in conference action.
UIS softball's series at Cedarville, scheduled for Feb. 14-15, has been canceled.
The Prairie Stars will next compete in the Blue Bridge Battle in Evansville, Ind., on Feb. 21-22.
UIS baseball's scheduled competition at the MSSU Lion Classic on Feb. 14-16 has been canceled due to inclement weather.
