The UISÌýwomen's golf team will host itsÌýfirst regular season home competition since 2022Ìýnext week when theÌýDan Salisbury Memorial Collegiate InvitationalÌýtees off at Piper Glen Golf Club. The two-day event runs Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 15-16, and features three rounds of stroke play.
UIS will welcome a competitiveÌýall-GLVC field, including Quincy, Maryville, McKendree, Drury, Truman State, and Rockhurst. The invitational provides an early fall test against conference opponents that the Prairie Stars will see again later in the season.
The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield is gearing up for Homecoming 2025, set for Sept. 14-20, with a week of events designed to bring together students, alumni, and the entire campus community. This annual tradition gives Prairie Stars past and present the chance to reconnect and celebrate through campus activities, highlighted by home soccer and volleyball matches.
Prairie Stars volleyball will spend the weekend in Canton, Ohio, competing in Malone's Hall of Fame City Challenge. UIS will face host Malone and Bloomsburg on Friday, followed by Slippery Rock and Bluefield State on Saturday.

The Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield men's cross country team has been ranked 29th in the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll, released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Prairie Stars are one of six teams ranked in the poll that did not field a team at last year's national championship. UIS will aim to return to the national meet for the first time since finishing sixth in 2022.
The UIS men's soccer team defeated Purdue Northwest with a decisive 3-1 victory at Kiwanis Stadium on Wednesday night, marking its first win of the season and improving its all-time record against PNW to 2-2-1. Impressively, all goal scoring occurred from the 75th minute onward.
The opening 45 minutes featured few clear chances, with UIS holding stretches of possession but unable to break through. Cameron Fyre and Leul Mehari each had shots that went off target, and the match remained scoreless at halftime.
