Elaine Grant has been named the GLVC Women's Golf Player of the Week after earning her first collegiate victory at the Flyers Spring Invitational. Grant led the Prairie Stars with rounds of 73 and 74, finishing with a total score of 147 (+3) to claim the individual title.
Her steady play was crucial to UIS placing sixth as a team. In the opening round, she recorded 15 pars and a birdie for a 73 (+1), followed by a consistent final round with 16 pars to post a 74 (+2).
For the second time this year, UIS women's track & field standout Madelyn Miller has been named the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month. After first earning the honor in January, Miller reclaimed the title in March following a string of record-breaking performances on the track.
Miller, a junior distance runner, delivered an exceptional month of competition, beginning with a runner-up finish in the 5,000-meter race at the GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championships for All-GLVC honors.
