The UIS Visual Art Gallery's reception for the WORK/PLAY exhibition originally scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 17 has been rescheduled due to inclement weather. The reception will now be held on from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24.
UIS Visual Arts Gallery presents 鈥淐harismatic Fauna,鈥 a selection of works from the last 10 years by artist and curator Doug Stapleton
The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Visual Arts Gallery is pleased to present 鈥淐harismatic Fauna,鈥 an exhibition by artist and curator Doug Stapleton. This exhibition will open on Tuesday, Jan. 18, and will run through Thursday, Feb. 10. A reception will be held on from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at the gallery. Masks are required in the gallery and at the reception.
Music
UIS Music Program welcomes students from all majors and colleges within the University to take classes in ethnomusicology, music history, music theory, and music performance. Introducing students to the academic study of music at the collegiate level, music courses offer students the opportunity to learn about diverse musical instruments and styles, to advance their performance technique, and to learn about various music career options.
Music Ensembles
Faculty/Staff, and community members are welcome to join UIS ensembles. Students may earn course credit by playing in an ensemble.

UIS Visual Arts Gallery presents the 2021 silent auction and benefit both online and at the gallery
The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Visual Arts Gallery annual silent auction and benefit will take place both online and on-site at the gallery this year. The silent auction and benefit, featuring original works of art donated by local and regional artists, will launch online on Nov. 15 and remain live through final bidding at 7 p.m. Dec. 2. It was a recent weekday afternoon in Springfield when Erin Washington was hanging crystal prisms from a neon-pink geodesic dome. The dome is outside of Springfield Art Association (SAA) in the Enos Park neighborhood.
Washington's work is part of this year's Terrain Biennial, an effort to make art more accessible to the general public and create community-based conversation and celebration. Every two years, artists partner with residents in neighborhoods and create artwork that can be seen outdoors.
