Do you often find yourself eating more food than you intended, then berating and criticizing yourself for doing so, especially when looking in a mirror? If the answer is yes, then you鈥檙e not alone. We live in a culture inundated with countless advertisements for three-course meals, 鈥渢wice the meat,鈥� value meals and huge portions of foods with extremely high fat and calorie content.

How many people are aware that April is Alcohol Awareness Month? I bet many of you are pondering this new bit of information. The Great American Smoke-out is very well known, but the same cannot be said concerning Alcohol Awareness Month. Alcohol Awareness Month was established in 1987, to educate the public on alcoholism, alcohol issues and the effects that alcohol was having on the youth of our country.

University of 缅北禁地 Springfield announces Choir of Man as part of the show's third U.S. tour. The performance is on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the UIS Performing Arts Center.

Tough times are again here for 缅北禁地鈥� child welfare agency. But an operation at the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield is trying to help. Students can go through a simulation lab that鈥檚 part of a child advocacy studies program run by Betsy Goulet, who enlists role players.

鈥淲e work with the standardized patients at SIU School of Medicine. We don鈥檛 use scripts, but they respond in character to what is said.

This month is Black History Month, a federally recognized celebration of African American history and culture. 

A variety of events are scheduled in the Springfield area 鈥� especially at the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield and Lincoln Land Community College聽鈥� highlighting聽the observance that began聽Feb. 1.
