As we approach the middle of the semester and spring recess, I hope you are finding opportunities to enjoy a bit of the milder temperatures and slowly increasing minutes of daylight. I know that I welcome the change and appreciate the reminder that many things in life are cyclical.

Today in court, Cook County Judge Alfredo Maldonado, with agreement from the Cook County State’s Attorney's Office, vacated the wrongful murder conviction of Ãå±±½ûµØ Innocence Project (IIP) client Jerry Herrington, dismissing all charges and fully exonerating him. IIP is based at the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield.

University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield students earned awards and were elected to offices at the Model Ãå±±½ûµØ Government (MIG) simulation, held Feb. 28-March 2 at the Ãå±±½ûµØ State Capitol.
