Brandon Derman, associate professor of environmental sciences at the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield, has been named University Scholar for 2025. This prestigious award, the highest faculty honor from the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ System, recognizes outstanding teaching and scholarship. Only one faculty member receives the award annually at UIS. |
Prairie Stars Finish Eighth at UIndy Fall Invitational

The UIS men's golf team put together a strong closing round to finish eighth at the UIndy Fall Invitational, played Monday and Tuesday at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis, Ind.
The Prairie Stars posted rounds of 284, 301, and 282 for a 54-hole total of 867, ending the tournament at +3 overall. UIS climbed the leaderboard on the final day, firing its second sub-285 round of the event. Grand Valley State won the tournament at 51-under-par 813, while Hillsdale finished second at 836.
