This April, join us on a field trip to the and the wetland restoration at the Emiquon Preserve to explore teaching and research opportunities.
Opportunities are not limited to the physical and natural sciences:
Themes and topics surrounding the restoration can provide a backdrop for an assortment of discussions touching on the environment, conservation, economics, policy, psychology, history, anthropology, nature writing, photography, and a suite of other disciplines. The TFSE provides logistical support for these endeavors with laboratory and classroom space, as well as equipment and housing.
The trip will include a tour of the Therkildsen Field Station, a ridge hike providing an overview of the restoration, a visit to the wetland, and discussions with Randy Smith (The Nature Conservancy’s Ãå±±½ûµØ River Project Director) and Logan Pappenfort (Director of Tribal Relations, Ãå±±½ûµØ State Museum). Lunch and transportation will be provided.
Dates: Two options to choose from Monday April 14 or Tuesday April 15
Time: Departing campus at 8:45 am
