I would like to invite you to the Spring Employee Information Session at 3 p.m. March 4 in Brookens Auditorium. During this session, you will hear from me and other UIS leaders about updates on our NorthStar strategic priorities as well as other important news and issues affecting UIS.

Please be aware that Parking Lot E will be closed on Monday, February 24, so that school children may safely enter the UIS Performing Arts Center for the Staley Class Acts performance The Giver.

Braidyn Phinney of Ottawa, Ãå±±½ûµØ, has been admitted to the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield for the fall semester of 2025 and awarded a $12,000 Star Scholar Award for tuition over four years. At UIS, he will major in computer science.

The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed if the student maintains college GPA requirements.

In high school, he was involved in the chess club and Dungeons and Dragons club.

The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield has been named to the newly established Research Colleges and Universities (RCU) category by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
