WELCOME TO SCIWORKS @UIS
Where Science Connects with Community, Curiosity, and Purpose

Ãå±±½ûµØ Sciworks@UIS
Sciworks@UIS is a collaborative initiative and shared laboratory facility housed in the College of Health, Science, and Technology at the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield. Anchored in the School of Integrated Science, Sustainability, and Public Health, Sciworks serves as a nexus for interdisciplinary research, experiential learning, and applied problem-solving. The name reflects both our mission and our method: science that works — in the classroom, in the field, and for the people of Ãå±±½ûµØ.
At its heart is a state-of-the-art analytical lab supporting molecular science, environmental chemistry, public health monitoring, and agricultural resilience. Faculty, students, and community partners use the space to investigate real-world problems, from water quality and soil contamination to emerging contaminants and sustainable technologies. Sciworks@UIS is both a physical hub and a growing network — a place where discovery, service, and education come together to tackle today’s challenges and prepare tomorrow’s scientists.
