PAC Plumbing Infrastructure Repair Project
The project is underway and progressing well. To stay informed about any unexpected outages or developments that may impact our campus community or visitors, watch for notifications on Orbit and Campus Announcements. Urgent updates and high priority messages will also be sent via email, so keep an eye out for messages from F&S!

As always, please don't hesitate to contact our office with any questions or concerns.
PAC First Floor Access Restricted
To ensure everyone's safety, access to the first floor of PAC is restricted. In the event of a life safety emergency - such as a tornado, fire, or active shooter - individuals may still use the first floor for protection or escape. However, everyone is encouraged to consider alternative shelter areas or escape routes.
Teardrop Entrance Closed
The teardrop entrance to PAC has been closed and will remain so for the duration of the project.
SMTD Service Change
SMTD service has been altered due to the teardrop closure. Buses will only stop at the shelter next to the Founders Residence Hall at the intersection of Eliza Farnham and Vachel Lindsay Drives.
Water Service Disruption
Water service was shut off to Towers 1 and 3 on June and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Water service will remain on for Tower 2.

Library Commons
In preparation for the upcoming construction, activity will begin in the coming weeks. As part of this process, the north section of Parking Lot A will be closed within the next 30 days.
This area will be designated for use by the construction contractor and will serve as a site for their work trailers, material storage, staging, and other construction-related operations.

UHB Bloomberg Lab
A state-of-the-art experiential active learning space is being constructed for the College of Business Management (CBM) on the 4th floor of UHB.
Work will include the demolition of some interior walls, relocation of some doorways, and new flooring, ceiling, and LED lighting.

HSB Lab/Lecture Modernization
The transformation of the lab and lecture space is now complete! The room now features 24 mobile, height-adjustable tables and 48 chairs designed for comfort and versatility.
The new furniture easily transforms the space between hands-on lab work and focused lectures. Chairs include adjustable height seats and foot rings for optimal comfort and functionality.
This flexible setup creates a more dynamic learning environment that adapts to different teaching styles and encourages collaboration and focused instruction.
UIS WILDLIFE

Spotted a Fawn on Campus? Here's What You Should Know
This time of year, it is not uncommon to come across a fawn curled up in the grass or tucked near a building here on campus. While it might seem like the young deer has been abandoned, don't worry - this is completely normal behavior. Fawns too young to accompany their mothers while foraging are placed by the doe in what she considers a safe spot while she searches for food.
If you discover a fawn on campus, the best thing to do is simply leave it alone. Resist the urge to touch or move it - the mother is likely nearby and will return when it's safe to do so.
Our campus is home to many wonderful animals. While it's exciting to encounter wildlife, remember that keeping a distance helps ensure everyone's safety.
