High Engagement Practice: Tying It All Together – Reflection and Learning Transfer
At the start of term, we spend a lot of energy planning the first interactions of a course and setting our students up for successful learning – introductions, building community, and understanding outcomes and expectations. Our choices at the end of the term are just as important. Summarizing, reflection, and making connections to the bigger picture are critical for long-term transfer of learning, or applying learning from one situation to a completely different context.

The Evelyn Zimmerman Scholarship program made possible through a generous $18,000 gift from the estate of Evelyn Zimmerman, is designed to support and honor students who are dedicated to the field of Public Health. Mrs. Evelyn Zimmerman's philanthropic legacy has a strong connection to the spirit of nursing in outreach, and her vision for supporting education in Public Health is at the heart of these scholarships. Her gift has created an immense opportunity for students in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at UIS.
