Campus-Wide Wi-Fi Upgrade - VPA, HBC, And Larkspur
Thanks to campus and system-level financial support, ITS is in the process of implementing a campus-wide infrastructure refresh as part of our efforts to improve Wi-Fi performance. This is a multi-phase project with an expected projected completion date of August 2025.
During the week of June 16, we will be upgrading the Visual Performing Arts (VPA) Building, Homer Butler Commons (HBC), and Larkspur.
Zack Jadzak Named UIS Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach
The UIS men's basketball program has announced the hiring of Zack Jadzak as an assistant coach for the 2025-26 season. Jadzak brings a wealth of experience from several strong NCAA Division III programs and a proven track record of success both on the court and in recruiting.
UIS service trip to Guatemala builds lasting impact for students and local community
A team of students, alumni and staff from the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield traveled to Antigua, Guatemala, this spring as part of an international service trip. Partnering with ImagininGuatemala, a small non-governmental organization, the group spent four days helping build a home for a family in need.
ImagininGuatemala works with volunteer teams to construct housing in the villages surrounding Antigua. The organization also provides access to food, clean water, education and health services.
Speech and Debate Team Grows
This past year has been a time of growth and expansion for the Speech and Debate Team! The team continued to compete exclusively in 9 online tournaments.
Three Prairie Stars Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors in Baseball
The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District baseball teams have been announced, with three Prairie Stars earning the honor for their combined success on the field and in the classroom in 2025.
Mark Kattula, Mack Clark, and Adam Lindsey were selected as the honorees from UIS. Kattula advances to the CSC Academic All-America ballot based on his exceptional athletic achievements during the 2025 season.
