We invite you, your family, and your friends to our open house!

Come unwind and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, donuts, and other snacks! This event is open to everyone, and all are welcome to stop by our office in 303B at the ICC East Peoria Campus (across from Student Life)

Hang out in our office while you enjoy donuts and delicious snacks with a cup of hot chocolate as we wrap up the semester!

All students, families, alumni, staff, faculty, and the public are welcome- bring a friend!

Bob Clary - Director

Bob holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and is a graduate of UIS. His academic focus was on using technology as a tool to solve business problems. Bob has had a career focus in the corporate environment with leading teams to address client needs and improve business efficiencies. Bob has a plethora of roles that he is engaged in at UIS. Bob serves as the director of UIS Peoria, leads efforts to define interests and expectations for graduate degrees within the UIS MBA Program, connects the IT industry and students with UIS to build impactful relationships for the UIS Liaison, and is an adjunct teacher in the College of Business & Administration as a UIS Faculty member. When Bob is not focused on his many roles at UIS, he pursues competitive events in the "sprint" triathlon distance, supports and befriends international students alongside ISU International Friends, and enjoys reading on current and historical business and business leaders.

Angie Gin - Academic Advisor/Campus Coordinator

Angie holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and is a graduate of UIS and an alum of �山�� Central College (ICC). Currently, she is working towards her Doctorate in Public Administration (DPA). Before working at UIS, Angie worked for Bergner's department store until their closing in 2018, then on the marketing team for a local window company in the Peoria area before moving on to her role at UIS Peoria in 2019. She has also ran a couple of her own businesses in the past! Angie has a distinct love and passion for the performing arts. This has been a life-long hobby of hers for as long as she can remember. Angie has routinely been involved in community theatre and currently dances with Isle of Erin Irish Dance in Peoria where she has competed internationally.

Cale Adams - Graduate Assistant

Cale holds a BA in psychology with a focus on clinical counseling from UIS and is currently in his final year of his MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through UIS’s Human Development Counseling (HDC) department. Alongside his graduate assistantship at UIS Peoria, he is completing an internship at Integrity Counseling in Bloomington, �山��. Outside of academics and work, Cale enjoys playing guitar, hiking, golfing, and biking.

Parking at �山�� Central College Is Always Free! Look below on quick tips to find our office:

Follow the signs to lot V (Visitor's lot) if you are coming for a quick trip! If you think you will be here for more than an hour, there is also available parking in A1 (Yellow spaces only!), or any space in B1. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to reach our office!

Part 1 of 6: As you are walking up the main path across the pedestrian bridge that spans over College Drive...

Part 2 of 6: Take the path under the catwalk...

Part 3 of 6: Head through the double doors ahead on the left...

Part 4 of 6: Continue up the stairs straight past the bookstore and front desk...

If an elevator is needed:
Head to the same area, but turn left into the cafeteria and take Elevator #5 to the 3rd floor.

The elevator will open up behind our office, come into the main hallway and look to the left. We are right there!

Take the Next Steps

Students who have completed their general education requirements and the foundational business courses at a community college or other accredited institution can Apply For Admission. The maximum number of credit hours that can be transferred from a community college is 66 hours.

With evening classes taught in Peoria and online courses, students can design a convenient schedule to complete their degrees.

Fee Waiver (New)

The University of �山�� Springfield is making it easier for students at three local community colleges to continue their education.

Starting with the Fall 2024 application period, UIS will waive the $50 application fee for transfer students applying from Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Richland Community College in Decatur and �山�� Central College in East Peoria. UIS Peoria is housed conveniently on the �山�� Central College - East Peoria Campus. All of our on-ground classes are held in the evenings around 6pm.

Guest Artist Series: The Second City Presents Jack Frost Roasting on an Open Fire

Skip the same old holiday routines and experience a comedy revue like no other. Join us as we roast everything from classic holiday movies to festive family gatherings in this fast-paced, interactive show. Expect seasonal songs, sharp sketches, and a healthy dose of improv, all wrapped up in a hilariously irreverent package. It’s rated R, so leave the kids at home, and prepare for the most “wonderful” time of the year—Second City style!

History of UIS Peoria

History Timeline of UIS Peoria

UIS Peoria began in 1975 as Sangamon State University – Upper Division – Peoria Campus. When Sangamon State University became the University of �山�� Springfield in 1995, SSU Peoria became the UIS Peoria Center then was rebranded to UIS Peoria in 2019.

The purpose of the programs offered at UIS Peoria has expanded from the two original B.A. programs in Management and Social Justice to additional professional programs all offered to allow students to continue their professional growth and skill improvement without interruption of their family obligations or employment. New programs such as Teachers Education (added in the 2021-2022 academic year) only expand our reach to serve more students in the Peoria area.

Welcome to Graduate Education at UIS

We are pleased that you have chosen to explore our graduate degree and certificate programs. More than 40% of UIS students are engaged in graduate study, and most were attracted to UIS by an impressive combination of factors that include educational quality, value and campus location and setting.

Faculty

UIS faculty members are talented researchers and scholars who enjoy and excel at teaching. Many of our graduate programs provide exceptional opportunities for students to engage in faculty-supervised scholarship, research or highly valued pre-professional practical experiences as part of degree work. Our classrooms are technologically sophisticated, and we have received national recognition for our innovative use of educational technology and institution-wide excellence in online teaching and learning.

Affordability

As a public institution in the Midwest, UIS tuition rates are affordable and very cost-competitive. Online courses are popular even among our on-campus graduate students, and many of our part-time students find that they can reduce their commuting time and costs by taking advantage of our online and blended courses. UIS also offers a number of competitive graduate assistantship and internship programs that can be a significant source of support while completing a graduate degree.
