Fundraising for Small Nonprofits

Frustrated with your current approach to fundraising? Wondering what you can do differently on a tight budget? Curious about other fundraising strategies you could try? This session will answer all those questions and more. We'll discuss the most effective fundraising strategies and ways to improve what you're already doing. Your take-aways will include the wisdom gleaned from your peers as well as a list of resources to explore on your own.

Quick Start Proposal Writing

Are you new to proposal writing or want a quick refresher? If so, you don't want to miss one of our most popular classes!

This class will provide you with an overview of how to write a standard project proposal to a foundation. It will include:

  • The basic elements of a proposal
  • The "do's" and "don'ts" of writing and submitting a proposal
  • How to follow up whether the answer is yes or no

The Research Board consists of faculty members representing the four colleges, one at-large, the library, and one academic professional staff member serving three-year terms (staggered). The Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation chairs the Research Board.

International Research

UIS supports international research that promotes cultural exchange and global awareness, a highlight of our General Education learning goals.  Human subjects research conducted outside the United States requires investigators to consider extra factors beyond the typical research protocol.

Collaborative Research

UIS faculty and students benefit from collaborative research with other scientists.  When those scientists are at other institutions, and human research is involved, then coordinating IRB proposal submissions is necessary to proceed smoothly.
