Michele Gribbins, associate provost for institutional research and effectiveness, has been named the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Employee of the Month for October 2025.
During her time at UIS, Gribbins has held numerous roles and has handled difficult and important tasks with ease.
鈥淪he is a wealth of information and institutional history,鈥� her nominator said.
Gribbins鈥� nominator complimented her ability to work successfully across multiple divisions on campus.
Cory Strawn, a steam and power plant worker in the building maintenance department, has been named the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Employee of the Month for September 2025.
Strawn is recognized as a detail-oriented and dependable employee who comes to work with a positive attitude.
鈥淲hether it is working behind the scenes in the boiler rooms or attending to the heating and cooling issues in individual offices or departments, he is a great asset to the university,鈥� said one nominator.
Nathan Curry, a grounds worker, has been named the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Employee of the Month for August 2025.
Curry is recognized as a conscientious employee who is kind and considerate. He helps maintain the beauty of campus by planting flowers and cleaning up leaves, and keeps the community safe in the winter by spreading salt and shoveling snow.
鈥淣ate is an asset to our campus and should be recognized for his hard work,鈥� said one nominator.
Amanda Weibring, an associate registrar in records and registration, has been named the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Employee of the Month for July 2025.
Weibring is recognized for her exceptional leadership, positive attitude and dedication to supporting students and staff.
鈥淎manda always has time to answer questions and give help when needed,鈥� said one nominator.
Her colleagues also highlighted her adaptability and commitment.
Kali Osburn, building service sub-foreman in Campus Recreation, has been named the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Employee of the Month for June 2025.
鈥淜ali is committed to keeping a clean and welcoming space for our students, staff and guests,鈥� her nominator said.
Her nominator also highlighted how she has stepped up while they are currently down one position.
鈥淪he has willingly taken overtime shifts and has helped to schedule the work for an additional overtime employee,鈥� her nominator said.
Yoselin Gonzalez, a building service worker in facilities and services, has been named the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Employee of the Month for May 2025.
Gonzalez was nominated by campus colleagues for her outstanding customer service, dedication and commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment at UIS.
Ravneet Chhokar, director of environmental compliance and safety in Facilities and Services, has been named the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Employee of the Month for April 2025.
鈥淩avneet鈥檚 cheerful and friendly attitude, along with her positive outlook, has been truly infectious throughout the unit. Her upbeat demeanor creates a welcoming environment and her respect for others shines through in every interaction,鈥� her nominator said.
Vanessa Ferguson, Community Voices producer at NPR 缅北禁地, has been named the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Employee of the Month for March 2025.
鈥淰anessa is a model employee. She鈥檚 personable, attentive and gets the word out about NPR 缅北禁地,鈥� her nominator said.
Her nominator also highlighted how she consistently goes above and beyond in producing Community Voices.
Heath Bruce, assistant director of marketing, has been named the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Employee of the Month for February 2025.
鈥淗eath has consistently demonstrated outstanding performance in working with faculty and staff across different units on campus and assisting them in planning and implementing marketing campaigns,鈥� his nominator said.
His nominator highlighted his willingness to go above and beyond to help others.
Building Service Foreman John "Jack" Stege has been named the 2024 Employee of the Year at the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield. He was honored during a reception on Jan. 30, 2025, in the UIS Student Union.
Before announcing the winner, UIS Chancellor Janet Gooch thanked the eleven Employees of the Month who were nominated for the award.
Stege, who was the April 2024 Employee of the Month, is very enthusiastic about doing a great job.
