All attendee's will be entered into a drawing to win $30 Amazon Gift Cards! The more you help - the more entries you get.

What to Expect:

Light to moderate physical activity – you’ll be on your feet for most of your shift.
Lifting and moving canned goods/boxes – typically under 25 lbs. (heavier items can be team-lifted).
Sorting, organizing, and stacking food – think Tetris, but with soup cans.
Bending, reaching, and possibly some squatting – comfy clothes and closed-toe shoes are a must.
Breaks and snacks provided – we know sorting fuel is important!

Join us for the UIS Cares Food Pantry Orientation, designed to support students facing food insecurity. Just like many university-based food pantries, UIS Cares is not meant to replace regular grocery shopping but acts as a crucial resource for students during challenging times. At UIS Cares, we understand the importance of ensuring all students have access to essential food items, helping to bridge nutritional gaps and alleviate financial strain.

To access this resource, attending an Orientation session is mandatory - even if you've attended one in previous semesters.

During the Orientation, you'll receive comprehensive guidance on how to utilize the pantry effectively, ensuring that it remains a sustainable support system for our campus. Whether you're experiencing temporary hardship or ongoing financial challenges, UIS Cares is here to provide a helping hand. Sessions last approximately 20-30 minutes in length with no appointment necessary.
