Scholarships

Investing in Your Education

Besides substantial scholarships for incoming first-year students, merit-based scholarships for transfer students, and scholarships for children of Veterans, UIS offers over 330 institutional scholarships to help defray the cost of your education. See the application details on the UIS Scholarships page. The deadline to apply is February 15.

Scholarship amounts may vary from year to year and not all scholarships are available every year.

Internships

Liberal Arts Beyond the Classroom

Liberal arts skills like critical and analytical thinking, collaboration and teamwork, cultural awareness and competency, ethical reasoning and decision-making, project and time management, and creativity and innovation are in demand! An internship allows you to explore possible futures and decide what's next for you.

Planning for the Future

Being a strong student is important in your job search or graduate/professional school plans. Scholarships help fund your education. Applying the knowledge and skills you obtain in the classroom can make you an outstanding candidate. The Office of Engaged Learning helps you plan for your future by honing your skills in an internship, through an engagement experience, or as you study away. Or, you can hone your research skills as you prepare to pursue an advanced degree. We can help you plan for your future.
