Resolutions

From 1970 to 1994-1995, the university was called Sangamon State University. The legislative body was known as University Assembly, and their pieces of legislation were termed "bills."

In 1995-1996, Sangamon State University became University of Ãå±±½ûµØ at Springfield. The legislative body was renamed Campus Senate, and their pieces of legislation are termed "resolutions."

Membership

The Campus Senate is a legislative body composed of twenty faculty, five students and three student alternates, one civil service staff member and one civil service alternate, one academic professional and one academic professional alternate, and one administrator. The Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs serves as an ex-officio, non-voting member.

The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Statutes, Article II, Section I, provide for a senate to be constituted at each campus of the University, to exercise legislative functions in matters of educational policy, such as requirements for admission to colleges and schools, requirements for degrees and certificates, and the academic calendar.
