At UIS, she will major in medical laboratory science and play on the women’s soccer team.

Makenna Miller of Omaha, Nebraska, a senior at Elkhorn South High School, has been admitted to the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield for Fall Semester 2023 and awarded a $36,000 Capital Scholars Honors Program Scholarship for tuition over four years. At UIS, she is an undecided major who plans to play on the women’s soccer team.

At UIS, he will major in exercise science and play on the UIS men’s soccer team.

Umar Sodiq of Ojo, Nigeria, a 2017 graduate of Al-Kawthar Model College, has been admitted to the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield for Fall Semester 2022 and awarded a $4,000 Lincoln Merit Scholarship for tuition over four years. At UIS, he plans to major in computer science.

Phillip (Matthew) Machino of Woodson, a senior at Jacksonville High School, has been admitted to the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield for Fall Semester 2022 and awarded a $32,000 Capital Scholars Honors Program scholarship and a $40,000 Camerata Music Scholarship totaling $72,000 over four years. The scholarships are renewed annually if the student maintains GPA and other requirements.
At UIS, Machino plans to major in business administration with a concentration in economics and a minor in music.
