Gooch and Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Brandon E. Schwab presided over the annual event, which recognizes excellence in teaching, service, scholarship and community engagement.

From Provost Schwab

Colleagues,

As we come to the end of an eventful and sometimes challenging academic year, I simply want to express my appreciation for the faculty, staff, and students who make UIS the great place it is to learn, work, and play. This week’s faculty honors reception and commencement ceremonies are opportunities to celebrate, and I hope you are able to participate in some way. There is much more work ahead of us, and I hope you have a wonderful summer whether you are on campus, nearby, or far away.

Faculty Personnel Policy

UIS Faculty Personnel Policy

The UIS Faculty Personnel Policy (FPP) is typically published each summer for the following academic year. The FPP covers such topics as faculty personnel files, faculty personnel reviews, leave and awards, appointment procedures, honorary degree procedures, and other useful information to assist faculty and academic units.

Dear UIS Community,

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance student success, we have recently begun work on our HLC Quality Initiative, a large-scale improvement process required by HLC as part of our participation in the Open Pathway accreditation process. After conducting a university-wide survey and targeted focus groups last year, the Provost’s Leadership Team has determined that enhancing advising services for students will be the focus of our initiative.
