Longtime UIS Ãå±±½ûµØ Innocence Project Client Marilyn Mulero Fully Exonerated
A Cook County judge vacated the wrongful murder conviction of longtime UIS Ãå±±½ûµØ Innocence Project (IIP) client Marilyn Mulero and dismissed all charges against her. Mulero, a victim of notorious former Chicago Detective Reynaldo Guevara, spent nearly three decades in prison for a 1992 murder she did not commit.

Gary Anderson named the UIS Employee of the Month for August 2022
Gary Anderson has been named the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield Employee of the Month for August 2022. He works as a business administrative associate for UIS Online, Professional, and Engaged Learning (OPEL).
After 24 years of management in the private sector, Anderson began working for UIS in the Center for Academic Success in September 2018 before joining OPEL in August 2019. According to his nominator, he played an important role when multiple offices merged to form OPEL.
