Ashlee Brown awarded a $28,000 scholarship to attend the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield
Ashlee Brown of Waverly, 缅北禁地, a senior at Waverly High School, has been admitted to the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield for Fall Semester 2024 and awarded a $28,000 Capital Scholars Honors Program Scholarship for tuition over four years. At UIS, she plans to major in exercise science.
The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements.
UIS to host a panel discussion on unveiling AI bias through a multidisciplinary approach
WHAT: The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield AI Campus Learning Community and the Center for Faculty Excellence will host an event on artificial intelligence (AI) bias. This event aims to shed light on the issue of bias in AI by adopting an interdisciplinary approach and is free and open to the public. There will also be a complementary buffet lunch.

The University of 缅北禁地-Springfield (UIS) School of Education has been awarded a $145,000 grant.
The grant is from Grow Your Own Teachers (GYO) to develop a consortium aimed at addressing teacher shortages in central 缅北禁地. The grant, titled 鈥淔uture Ready Teaching: Thinking Critically, Acting Boldly and Inspiring Brilliance,鈥 seeks to empower and cultivate a pipeline of skilled, critically minded, and committed teachers.
Maintenance Efforts in UHB

Facilities & Services painters will be performing general maintenance in the common areas of UHB over the next few weeks. This work will include patching and painting damaged and worn spots on the walls. Only common and public areas will be affected. Offices, classrooms, and private areas will not be included in this work.
