        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  UIS  women's  basketball  team  will  return  to  action  on  Thursday,  Jan.  2,  facing  the  Saint  Ambrose  Fighting  Bees  in  its  first  game  of  the  new  year.  After  a  challenging  start  to  the  season,  the  Prairie  Stars  aim  to  reset  and  build  momentum  under  the  leadership  of  head  coach  Olivia  Lett.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  UIS  basketball  teams  return  to  action  after  the  holiday  break  for  their  first  games  of  2025.  The  women's  basketball  team  hosts  Saint  Ambrose  on  Thursday  before  both  teams  travel  to  Indianapolis  to  resume  conference  play  on  Sunday.  All  of  this  week's  games  will  be  streamed  live  on  the  GLVC  Sports  Network.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  UIS  men's  basketball  team  improved  to  6-6  on  the  season  with  a  thrilling  94-91  overtime  victory  against  Grand  Valley  State  on  Friday.

"What  a  high-level  college  basketball  game!  Grand  Valley  State  is  a  really  good  ball  club,  and  that  is  a  big-time  road  win,"  said  UIS  head  coach  Matt  Brock.  "Our  men  really  defended  well  in  the  first  10  minutes  of  the  second  half  to  build  that  lead.  Our  seniors  made  clutch  play  after  clutch  play  down  the  stretch  and  in  overtime.  A  very  good  way  to  enter  the  break!"</div>
