Website Impact Report 

We achieved several key initiatives in FY25 on uis.edu and the UIS mobile app, enhancing the overall experience for visitors and content editors. Social Media Squad

Media Strategy launched the 鈥淪ocial Media Squad,鈥 a volunteer group of students who help create content and appear in @UISedu posts highlighting campus life. Their goal is to showcase the student experience and share authentic stories that support UIS鈥 recruitment efforts.

Marketing and Brand Strategy Updates

Update your Professional Headshot

All faculty and staff are invited to an open photo session to update their professional photo for free. Photos can be used for department websites, the campus directory, speaking engagements, conferences, etc. The Strategic Communications photo studio is in the  (BSB 95). 

Open Studio Sessions are Tuesday, October 14 from 12:00 鈥 4:30 p.m. and  Wednesday, October 15, 9:00 a.m. 鈥 1:00 p.m. Each session will take two to three minutes. The next opportunity for portraits is in Spring 2026.

Enrollment Campaign Launch

The annual recruitment marketing campaign for 2025鈥26 has launched, in partnership with the Office of Admission. The campaign showcases UIS through authentic storytelling and a layered, strategic media approach that highlights the university鈥檚 strengths and unique student experiences. This campaign includes a wide range of tactics designed to reach students where they are and inspire them to explore their future at UIS.

Photographs from 2020 by Clay Stalter, senior photographer, were included in "COVID Stories," a monthlong series of exhibits, staged readings and a lecture reflecting on the human impact of the pandemic. The exhibit will be on display until Oct. 23 in the SIU School of Medicine library. Learn more about this event.
