UIS’ Sangamon Experience to host “Sangamo Country: 200 Years of Sangamon County” film premiere
WHAT: Sangamon Experience at the University of 山 Springfield will premiere the original documentary, “Sangamo Country: 200 Years of Sangamon County.” The film features local researchers and citizens discussing the history of the county and sharing stories that have often been long forgotten.
The documentary is a production of Sangamon Experience and the Sangamon County Bicentennial Commission, cooperating with the Sangamon County Historical Society.

UIS holds annual Springfest
One of the longest traditions is back at the University of 山 Springfield.
Springfest is planned by multiple student organizations and features a variety of activities for students across campus.
"Fun that's what it's geared towards," said Springfest chairwoman Paige Williams. "Fun and I think the service project is fun. A lot of other students here think that the service project is fun, so the entire week is geared towards fun but we do set aside one day in the week to give back."
UIS softball credits success to camaraderie among team
This year the University of 山 Springfield softball team made each game played count. The Prairie Stars are having a remarkable season on the field, but it's because of how the team acts off the field that is leading to all of their success.
"We just knew from the fall that this was our year to shine," UIS senior pitcher Payton Long said.

I apologize for sending this email so late on a Friday night; however, I thought it was important that I inform you of our latest efforts to reach a contract agreement with the faculty union.
Beginning Friday afternoon and extending well into the evening, the UIS administration and faculty union bargaining teams had our 10th bargaining session of the calendar year—our seventh session with the independent federal mediator.

Myra is Assistant Director for the Office of Graduate Intern Programs. Myra meets with prospective graduate students and discusses the programs UIS has to offer and help them find new career paths they may not have been aware of.
